Examiner

I recently signed up to write articles for the Examiner. You choose to write about a certain topic (mine is Early Childhood) and you're paid based on how many subscriptions you get, how many people leave comments, and many people you refer to write about other topics. I've only written one article so far, but check out my page and subscribe! :) I thought it would be a fun way to make a little extra cash. It's not much, but maybe it will pay for a lunch or two.

She's almost here!

After four long years of waiting, my Aunt, Uncle, and cousins are finally getting ready to travel to China to pick up their daughter/sister. We can't wait to meet sweet little Eva. Please pray for them as they travel and for Eva as she meets her new family and adjusts to life in a new country. This sweet little girl has been loved by so many for so long!

Children's Museum Fun

I think it's about time for update, huh? We completely skipped May, blogging wise. Oops! You know the saying, time flies! So anyway, here's our May recap:

* Kristen turned a year older.
* The Bellon's are settling into our new house (and yet, there are still boxes everywhere. We're apparently not very good at "settling.")
* Mother's Day was lovely. :)
* Brayden's new thing is to push things around the house. For hours and hours, it seems like.
* We celebrated our anniversary! <3>

Ok, now that that's out of the way, on to the fun pictures! :) Yesterday we took Brayden to the local Children's Museum and met up with Aunt Kelsey and Mackenly. Fun was had by all!

The drums were a huge hit. His shirt appropriately says, "Let's Rock." :)

Summer is officially upon us in SWLA (although temperature-wise I suppose it's been summer for a month and half now). Unfortunately, the term "summer" doesn't quite mean what it used to due to full time jobs, but we hope to take advantage of a few summer activities, such as swimming, snow cones, swimming, relaxation, and swimming. And share the pictures, of course. :)

Life Lately

The Bellon's have been busy lately! Brayden is now officially 18 months old. I was going to do an 18 mon. post, but we wound up being really busy that day (more on that later), and now it seems silly to post it almost a week late! Toddlers are such interesting little creatures, that's for sure. The tantrums are in full swing. Most are pretty funny...it's just humorous to watch someone so small throw themselves on the floor! :) Brayden has learned to use "yes" and "no" correctly, which helps tremendously. He's also started taking our hands and leading us where he wants to go. He still loves cars and "nains" (trains). He adores being outside and all activities that require being outside. We have also been working on eating with a spoon. He does really well, surprisingly. 3/4 of the food actually makes it to his mouth!

In other exciting Bellon family news...we're finally in our new house! Our first night here was last Friday (B's 18th month birthday). There's still boxes everywhere, but we're so excited! Pictures to come soon, promise.

Happy Easter!

'tis time for an update!

...An update with no pictures, unfortunately. Soon, though!

We finally closed on our house a few weeks ago! (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) We don't live there yet, but we're getting closer! So far all we've done is made a great big mess, but it's getting there. I am kicking myself daily for forgetting to take "before" pictures!

Brayden is officially in toddler-hood and it's exciting and scary all at the same time. He's just so gosh darn funny! His new favorite thing is to blow kisses. To everyone. Us, his teachers at school, the waitress, the security guard at the mall, etc. He still loves cars, loves being outside, and loves to throw things in the "sash". His hair is getting longer and is getting curlier by the day (and blonder, thanks to all the recent sunshine!). He weighs 22 lbs and is 31 inches tall. He loves to lift his shirt and say "belly!" He loves to point out family members and say everyone's name. He loves to climb the stairs (which is a big no-no). He learns new words all the time and we're constantly amazed at how much he understands and the things he imitates.
