home again, home again

We're finally back in Ruston and all the pictures from Christmas are finally uploaded on my computer. I'll post some pictures later, but I wanted to report that we took our big boy to the doctor today for a check-up. He weighs 9 pounds and is 22 inches long. He got his first round of shots and has been doing pretty well. We're missing everyone at home...thanks for letting us spend time with y'all while we were there...Brayden's first Christmas was definitely a success! :)

I took some pictures of Brayden on his Christmas blanket today in one of his Christmas outfits. The pictures must have worn him out, because he's passed out on the blanket now. Check out our Christmas cutie. :)

7 weeks

It's been a cold week here in Ruston. It didn't snow like in the areas south of us, but it was still pretty frigid. We had to go out in it the other day, so here is Brayden all bundled up (I later added a blanket).Yesterday Brayden was 7 weeks old. He no longer fits into preemie clothes and now wears the newborn size. Some 0-3 month clothes fit loosely...we'll be there so soon!This picture was him snuggled in the footrest of the recliner. He fits perfectly in the little dip. He looks so sweet! :)

six weeks

I forgot to post Brayden's six week picture last week. We actually almost forgot to take it! Here is our sweet little growing boy!


He kind of slumped over into his shirt. :)

Thanksgiving Week

Brayden had a great Thanksgiving week on his first trip to Lake Charles. I know the real reason people visit our site is for the pictures, so we'll skip the recap and head straight to those. :)

4 weeks old

Like I say every week, time is going by too fast. :( He's starting to interact more...today he was trying to imitate the faces I was making while I was talking to him. Sunday is his one month birthday!

finally finished

Daddy graduated college on Wednesday. We're so proud!
As you can see, Brayden greatly enjoyed the graduation ceremony. :)

3 weeks old

We didn't take many pictures this week due to finals, but I did manage to take this super cute one earlier today. Yesterday was Brayden's three week birthday. Time is flying by - I have a feeling I'll be saying that for the next 18 years!

cousins

Earlier this week Brayden met his cousin Mackenly and Aunt Kelsey for the first time. We loved spending time with them! We can't wait until they're old enough to interact with each other.


Mackenly looks like a mischievous little bully in that last picture, but we're teaching Brayden to hold his own. :)

2 weeks old

This post is a few days late, but Brayden officially turned two weeks old last Thursday. It's only been two weeks, but it's hard to imagine what life was like without him. We love him so much! :)

bath time

Last Tuesday, we were very pleased to see that Brayden's nasty umbilical cord stump had finally fallen off. We got to give him his first real bath. He wasn't a huge fan the first time, but it's gotten better since this picture was taken.
Afterwards with daddy = much better! :)

little man

Just wanted to post to show how cute Brayden looked today in his polo shirt. It was a little big, but he was such a handsome little man. :)

trickster

For Halloween this year, Brayden decided to be a trickster. Some test results from the hospital came back abnormal, so he had to get some blood work done to re-test them. On Friday afternoon, we learned he was extremely jaundiced and he had to be hospitalized that night.

(After getting his blood work done - he was such a big boy! The nurse even gave him a sticker.)

After 2 long days in the hospital, Brayden was finally able to come home. We're so glad to finally be settling in as a family of three! Since coming home, he's eating better and sleeping better at night...he even slept in his crib last night for mommy. :) It's so fun watching him grow! We never knew we could love someone so much. :)(We're becoming a regular at the baby tanning salon. Hopefully this will be the last time!)

Brayden is here!

Brayden John was born on October 23 at 1:57pm. He was 5lbs, 14oz and 19 inches long.

He wound up having to go to the NICU because he had some mucus in his lungs, so he was on oxygen and an IV for a while.The next morning he finally got to come to our room and we finally got to hug on our sweet little boy. :) After being in the hospital for 4 1/2 days because of a messed up blood culture and slight jaundice, we finally got home yesterday and are loving being home! Here are some more pictures from the hospital.
